Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy
I offer individual therapy for adults and adolescents in Minnesota.
Therapy that is focused on the individual is a bit of a misnomer.
Humans do not exist in isolation, we are simply the center of a system that swirls around us that includes the people and contexts that impact us: our family, friends, work colleagues, childhood, past relationships, career, etc.
When we talk about the “individual”, we are really talking about how that person makes sense of themselves within this larger system.
Individual therapy can be a powerful experience where the client and therapist explore the client’s own strengths and discover areas that are problematic.
Developing insight into ourselves allows us to take the first step toward changing the thoughts/patterns that are holding us back from our goals.
Therapy can sometimes leave you feeling super vulnerable and anxious about what you said or didn’t say in the session. Try not to worry about this, it’s ok and a normal part of the therapeutic journey.
Your thoughts and feelings are completely valid and are your truth. I will hold that with you.
This is the space to sort through all of the “stuff” and work on moving forward on your path with greater clarity.
“’Finding yourself’ is actually returning to yourself. An unlearning, an excavation, a remembering who you were before the world got its hands on you.”
–Emily McDowell
