Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for adults, adolescents and children throughout Minnesota

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a relatively new, evidence-based therapeutic technique designed to help individuals quickly process and resolve traumatic memories and emotional distress.

ART integrates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy with eye movement and guided visualization techniques to reprocess distressing images, thoughts, and emotions associated with trauma.

Through ART, clients can transform their relationship with troubling memories, reduce emotional and physical distress, and achieve lasting relief in a shorter time compared to traditional therapeutic methods.

While both ART and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) have shown significant efficacy in trauma treatment, ART’s faster results, gentler approach, and broad applicability make it an appealing option for many individuals.

It provides a flexible, client-centered experience that can be more accessible and empowering, especially for those who may have struggled with the emotional intensity of traditional trauma therapies.

If you’re looking for a solution that works quickly and is less emotionally taxing, ART may be the ideal option.

Our symptoms are not a reflection of who we are, but a sign of what we’ve been through and how we’ve tried to survive.

ART can help with…

Trauma

ART allows clients to reprocess and reframe traumatic memories without needing to fully re-live the trauma. ART helps to “re-edit” how the brain processes the traumatic event, reducing the emotional charge associated with the memory and enabling the individual to see the event from a different perspective.

Anxiety

By addressing the root of the anxiety, ART can lead to lasting relief from symptoms like worry, fear, and panic attacks. Through visualization, clients can replace anxious thoughts with more calming and empowering images, reducing the physiological and emotional impact of anxiety.

Depression

ART can treat feelings of hopelessness, sadness, and low self-esteem. The therapy helps individuals reprocess distressing memories and replace negative self-beliefs, allowing them to regain a sense of control and perspective. By alleviating emotional blockages, ART can help lift the heaviness.

Grief and Loss

ART helps to process and reframe painful memories associated with loss. ART allows individuals to find peace by reworking memories of the deceased or the situation in a way that reduces emotional suffering while still honoring the person or experience.

Phobias/Fears

Fears can often be traced back to past traumatic events or learned responses. ART helps to desensitize individuals to these fears by reprocessing traumatic memories and altering the emotional reactions tied to the stimulus. Over time, this can significantly reduce or eliminate the fear response.

Stress/Burnout

For those in high-pressure jobs or caregiving roles, including first responders, ART can help process the emotional strain from daily stressors, past traumatic events, or burnout, allowing individuals to feel more balanced, restored, and able to cope more effectively with ongoing stress.

Self Esteem

ART can help address negative self-talk, self-doubt, and low self-esteem by reprocessing memories that have contributed to these beliefs. The therapy can reframe past experiences in ways that help individuals see themselves more positively and have a more empowered outlook on life.

Relationships

Unresolved issues from past relationships may be affecting current relationships. Whether related to childhood attachment wounds, past romantic relationships, or family dynamics, ART can help individuals resolve these issues by reframing and reducing the emotional charge of past experiences.
